Maryville University is searching for a new Lab Manager to oversee our state of the art Cyber Fusion Center (CFC). This person will provide leadership by engaging students through a robust experiential learning program that develops and allows them to practice their cybersecurity, technical, and business administration skills. The ideal candidate will build the pool of community partners and the appropriate array of cybersecurity services needed to support those partners, and facilitate educational outreach and the promotion of technical programs to meet the objectives of the Simon School of Business and the University. The candidate must be committed to fostering a positive, culturally diverse atmosphere for faculty, staff and students.
Essential Responsibilities: CFC Facility
Responsible for overall management of CFC and its operations
Investigate and employ multifaceted security tools, strategies, and analytics used to prevent, detect, monitor and diagnose vulnerability issues in computer information systems to build students' skills
Plan, develop, evaluate, and maintain lab documentation policies and procedures
Plan, develop, and manage activities in the CFC lab to support innovative experiential learning
Coordinate internal and external activities held in the CFC
Maintain CFC equipment in good working order, manage repairs, and equipment update cycle
Identify and troubleshoot minor technical and software issues in the CFC
Manage and maintain computer lab technologies in partnership with IT Department Curriculum Support
Collaborate with faculty to enhance and support the evolving cybersecurity curriculum and associated equipment, program materials, and resources
Collaborate with faculty to prepare and integrate CFC learning activities into the curriculum
Test virtual labs, offer suggestions for improvement when needed
Assist with cybersecurity research and participate in professional communities of practice Student Learning Support and Instruction
Instruct students and faculty in the use of equipment in the CFC
Mentor students in the development of their professional skills and career preparation
Teach one section of ISYS 490/690 (additional sections for adjunct pay) Outreach
Coordinate CFC and Cortex (CIC) Speaker Series
Cultivate additional community clients and build tiered service packages for these clients
Manage student teams and clients in providing cybersecurity services to nonprofit organizations
Represent the Cybersecurity Program at various university events, including visit days, START, orientations, and student activities
Represent the cybersecurity program at local and regional events
Bachelor's Degree in Cybersecurity, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or related discipline
