Job Duties and Responsibilities
Timely check-in which includes greeting and assisting visitors and patients; obtains initial patient information, including demographic and insurance information; reviews and maintains patient.
Verifies patient account information through automated processes, registration interfaces, patient contact, or payer contact.
Collect co-pays, self-pay balances, and/or non-covered services during check-in if applicable. Timely referrals to patient relations representatives (if applicable) for financial consultation to maximize reimbursement for services rendered.
Resolves registration and claim edits and completes registration reports (differences, fatal, etc.) to accommodate processing of charge entry and claim submissions.
Identifies issues/trends with payers; investigates and corrects errors; researches missing or incorrect account information; appropriately updates account activity, including accounts receivable invoices.
Performs other duties as assigned.
High School Diploma; supplemented with one to three (1-3) years of related experience.
