Position Description

The Financial Services department of Fontbonne University has a full-time opening for a Financial Services Assistant.  The primary purpose of this position is to ensure that all qualified students receive aid accurately and on time in accordance with federal, state and internal guidelines.  This position reports to the Assistant Director of Financial Aid.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Process awards, maintain files, counsel students/parents on process. On the job training will be provided for all technical aspects of this position.
• Data entry of financial information and support for all Financial Aid functions.
• Daily review of reports for awarding and verification purposes, or other projects as assigned.
• Answer phones, assist with mailings, respond to emails and provide customer services to students and parents.

• Ability to meet deadlines

• Professional communication skills with students and employees
• Must be able to perform in a team atmosphere and have outstanding customer service skills
• Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office
• Excellent math, writing and communication skills
• University policies and procedures
• Previous higher education/financial aid experience preferred

Education

• High School Diploma required. 
• Some college coursework or bachelor’s degree preferred
